2009 Historical Events

2009:   Cantin's win Major Baseball with a 20-0 record.  Gilford Well takes the Major Softball Championship. First inter-city Championship named the "Cantin Cup" is played at Gilford's field.  Both Laconia and Gilford's Major Baseball Champions were sponsored by Cantin Chevrolet and Gilford won the game 4-1.   Laconia Red wins the Junior All-Star Tournament.  New Scordboard for Colby Field is donated by The Irwin Zone and Gilbert Block, Bonnette Page & Stone, Daniels Electric and Gilford Well assist in installing it. Website redesigned. Season challenged by rebuild of Opechee Fields, causing LLL to play on several of the cities fields. Bert Decormier, long-time Laconia Little League volunteer, passes away and Friends of Bert make generous donation to LLL. Long-time umpire Rich Velasquez passes away prior to the start of the season. 450 kids play the season. President is Mary Nyhan, who also takes over as District 2 Administrator.
